Hi all, im re-installing my starter but now i can't get it to turn over. i can hear the relay clicking, but the starter isn't getting 12V to the "S" terminal. the smaller gauge (yellow/red) "R" terminal is getting power though.Any ideas where to start probing?

thanks!

The yellow/red wire goes on the "S" (start) terminal. not the R terminal.

oops, typo on my part...after several hours of checking and rechecking, i finally resorted to "tapping" the solenoid out of frustration...voila! sheesh i should've started with that! Engine started right up and purrs like a kitten. thanks!

Just like a computer, garbage in, garbage out.

Tapping on a solenoid isn't a fix, it just shows you where the problem is.
