are 87 & 88 force 125hp the same

i have an 88 force 125hp and have come across an 87 force 125hp with a broken crankshatft. iwas thinking of buying it for parts and was wondering if the parts were the same. any help would be appreciated.

Roofman,I did a brief check in the NAPA marine products manual.And Some parts appear the same.With Mercury just announcing they will no longer support Force Motors It may be a good investment if cheap<br />enough.Dont Know that I would invest too much money to keep a Force running under those circumstances.But there will be people out there looking for non generic parts that are specific to that motor.
