Are carb floats reusable?

I finally got my stuck float out. It was stuck to the shaft that goes straight through it. Kinda nasty down there, but its nothing that can't be cleaned. Anyway, the float is in good condition, save for a few dents made by the screwdriver. Is it alright to put back in and continue to use?

As long as its not leaking and it rides on the shaft without hanging up

I just went and found new floats at the marine supply store. Thanks for the response tho.
