Are Evinrude 70 h.p. parts interchangeable ?

Presently i own a 1977 evinrude 70 h.p. motor that runs good on 15 ft. boat, thinking about buying another boat with 1983 evinrude 70 h.p. with power trim on it runs also. My guestion is are the years parts for each motor interchangeable if needed. Keep one for a spare if they are. thanks

simply,yes,if you go to the brp website,you can compare the part numbers,connecting rods,block ,crank ,gearcase are interchangeable
