Are Johnson Evinrude controls interchangeable 1980's

I'm looking at purchaseing 1980 evinrude 15HP outboard, I have a 1988 Johnson 25HP. Are steering and single lever controls interchangable?

yes. made need to buy cable bracket of 15 but cables are identical.
