Are Mercury gas tanks painted just plain "red"?

What shade of red should my Mercury metal fuel tank be? This tank goes with my 1956 Mercury Mark 55E that I'm restoring, and I want to paint the tank too. Is the tank no particular shade, but just "common" red? Thanks
