Are stators a weak link.

I am starting to wonder if stators were prone to failing in the V6 135hp-150hp in the 1988-1989 models, or any other years or models. I have replaced two in the last 50 hours with no apparent reason. Anybody else have a similar experience?

yep<br /> but if ya call merc there is no problem. rapair sells quality ones.

my original lasted four years , my replacement (rapair) is still there ...was changed in 1991
