Are there bad Powerhead rebuild kits?

My block just got done at the machine shop. Not knowing how much they were going to have to take off the cylinders, I waited to order the rebuild kit. Turns out , it is .030 over.

While I was waiting for it , I got online to check prices....big difference from one to another.

I was wondering, are there any bad rebuild kits?

This is a Johnson or Evinrude? OMC/BRP kits are the best bet, but aftermarket from a large supplier like Sierra would do.

When they say that they are original equivalent or better....does it matter who makes them?
Has anyone just got a bad one?
There is literally hundreds of dollars differences in the pricing.

Omc,Brp and WSM all make good kits. The wsm is the best for the money.
