it would be easy enough to call the sheriff dept in Alpharetta, Georgia and see if it exists

No need to call The Alpharetta gendarmes. Honda Marine does has headquarters there and I drive by on a regular basis. But why would they mention Honda's Georgia US HQ when these scammers are located in Singapore? Look at a some of the other brands, they do something similar.

I bet Honda, Mercury, Evinrude, et al dealers are happy about selling to their customers around the world.

I guess I'm old fashion. I would look at something in the states before sending my money overseas and hoping.
