Are these parts worth anything?

My trim pump quit working so I replaced it with a new one. Are there rebuild kits for these that would make it useable again so someone might want it?

I also have a one speed hydraulic trolling motor that came off of a Mercruiser 165 I/O. It runs off the main engine belt and the motor attaches to the plate on the outdrive. My dad used to fish and it was working several years ago, but was removed since I don't have any need for it. Do you think its worth throwing on ebay?

Re: Are these parts worth anything?

If the hydraulic motor works still and it's not obviously junk, sure... I know people restoring old boats to vintage condition would love it.

Cool idea... I didn't even think of putting a hydraulic drive on a boat when I was looking into backup power and engines... really inefficient, but a cool way to get redundancy without using a lot of space.

I dunno on the trim pump... you might find someone wanting parts for a rebuild, but I haven't seen a kit for the pump anywhere. I'm personally planning on just buying one of the newer versions of the pump with the plastic reservoir if mine goes bad.

They have electric motors now that mount on the drive same thing.

Your setup maybe 40 years old.

Why not re-install it, nothing to rebuild it.

Does it work right now?

Would be good for a backup if your main drive fails just to get you to the dock.

How fast did it push the boat im' curious?

Any one who works on hydraulic motors could reseal it.

Electric just quieter, lets you sneak in to the fish without the motor making a racket.
