After reading some old threads about water increase temperature above 2500rpm i start doubt if the hoses in my gm 305 are right connected .I have a similar problem and since i've replaced everything now i wonder about that because when on muffs i remember that after some seconds from the start of the engine tthe water started coming out from the outdrive instead of waiting some time for the thermostat to open.May somebody with this kind of engine help me?
Thanks in advance

I sure can't help on the motor or connections, but on start up, it will pump water directly to the exhaust manifolds, and out the back. More will flow through the motor as the stat opens...

The water has to flow at all times with the engine running, or the hoses hooked to your exhaust elbows going to the Y pipe would all get burned before the stats open.

What is YOUR temperature problem?

PS: The hoses are hooked up correctly.
