I have an old 75hp chrystler that I want to throw on my buddies boat for a fishing trip. He has a 91 grumman w/ 9.9 motor(91 Evinrude), 17' long, will I be able to hook up the chrystler to his controls? We will be removing 9.9. What all am I looking at to do this?? We have a 14 mile trip by boat to the place we are staying, dont want to do it w/ the 9.9, would take us all day. Thanks .

Hardcore several things u need to look , max rating of the boat, transom height the 9.9 is most likely a 15" shaft control cables u should be able to adap steering ? tiller or stick steer ,but as crab bait said being inventive is what it boils down to & what your local DNR thinks of it! Be safe and legal
