Are Yamaha and Suzuki the same outboards?

Are Yamaha's and Suzuki basically the same outboards?

Like Mercury and Mariners
or
Johnson and Evinrude
or
Tohatus and Nissan

I have a 1994 DT75

Suzuki claims they are different but I am supisous

no ..... suzuki and yamaha are not the same .... at all ....

Yammi makes the Merc 4-strokes that's for sure, enginewise. And Suzuki made Johnson 4-strokes for awhile a few years ago.
