My friend said he just bought a 1975 Aristocraft 21 with a 140hp and and OMC drive. Did ABW make a 21'?

Re: Aristocraft 21

personally, i've never seen one advertised + i'm under the impression that the ninteen was/is the only model made....

put a tape measure to it. my nineteen is really 19' from bow to stern..

or, have AristoCraft answer the question. i'm sure they would know the for sure facts.

where'd the omc powered boat come from? there was one around my hood for a year or so. it was a nineteen though. brown i think.. just curious..

Re: Aristocraft 21

I think I heard mention of a 21 and that it wasn't the boat that the 19 is
I know they took a shot at the 24(?) cabin cruiser and it wasn't as popular as the 19 either. As always, I may be corrected in the next post.

Re: Aristocraft 21

emailed Aristocraft and they said they didn't make a 21. they also said they thot an 18' cable would fit the 19 gear control. I laid an 18' on the boat and it seemed to be about 4' too long. Anyone change a 19 cable recently? I brought back the auto alternator and will look for a used marine and have it rebuilt if necessary.

Re: Aristocraft 21

I changed my cables with a "serviceable" set (IE: used) last year, but I don't recall the length. If they are a bit long, just throw a loop into them somewhere and drive on; at least that has worked for me so far. When I visited with Scott at the factory a while back; he showed me the modified molds to make a 21 but indicated that the project never got off the ground. You never know, maybe there is one (a prototype?) out there somewhere.

Found out the 21 is really a 19. Scott or Bill from Aristocraft emailed me and the throttle cable is 18' and the shifter cable is 16'. I can get a used "serviceable" one that is too long and will look to see if there is a way to loop it behind the starboard rear seat.

not much room behind where the cables come out of mj... this is where they exit inside the hull.. all the trim pump jazz is right there in the way. i find it hard to see w/o taking a pic of it... very recessed and back in there imho... :(

fwiw, i did manage to feed that red wire in. when i was doing that. i discovered, best i can tell. this tube is the only access between the passenger compartment and the engine compartment. only route possible to use to get things back and forth..

I thought there might be an open space behind the seat back, but I guess not. I will order a 16'.

Re: Aristocraft 21

When I changed mine I ended up just ramming them through the conduit. I pulled a line when I took the old ones out, but it ended up not working very well. As it turned out, I covered the clevis on the cables with a piece of hose and shoved them thru one at a time. I will be cutting an opening behind the aft seat backs to add back up plates for my swim platform project soon. I'll post some pic's when I get that done. I should be able to see the conduit routing the wire bundles/cables to the engine compt.

i wondered how ya were gonna support it. back plates sounds like what it needs to me too.

will be looking fwd. to the pics. can we see both sides. the routing of the vents is still somewhat of a mystery to me. specially port side. guess i've not looked real hard though.
