Army Helicopters in NYC

For the past 2 days here in New York City, the U.S. Army has been flying their Black Hawk helicopters so low that you can see the men and machine guns.<br /><br />Is this happening in other cities around the U.S., or are we the only ones seeing this?

time to move upstate buddy! the refueling planes<br />were flying out of Niagra Falls a few weeks back,<br />but they have left for ???

Kenny,<br /><br />Can't say. I see them all the time here (Apaches) because they are built about five miles from here at the Boeing plant.<br /><br />There has been a lot of activity lately though.

Fortunatly I don't live here in the city, but on Long Island, I still miss seeing the F14's flying around, I use to work for Grumman building them.

There have been fighter jets flying almost nightly across the island and the length of the island for about a week. The port has also beefed up security.

Don't know about Apaches, but we have a big Coast Guard Air Station here and activity seems to have quadrupled. Choppers going over sound good to me. Somebody is watching.

I'm back<br /><br />Just a smoke condition in Pennsylvania Station (normal occurance).<br /><br />Someone paniced.<br /><br />I hate walking down 22 stories for nothing.

Yea they said they were beefing up the security of the air space around NYC.

Yeah, but there weren't this many helicopters even after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.<br /><br />Boy do I have to get out this city!<br /><br />Its crazy here.<br /><br />The National Gaurd is patroling the streets with M-16's and the police and the gaurd troops all carry gas masks...<br /><br />Should I?

Kenny I don't know if you're serious about the gas mask, but to answer the question no. The reason being unless you know well in advance, no likely to happen, it will be to late to properly put the mask on. In addition, in order for a mask to work properly it has to be "fit tested" and you have to know what you're trying to protect yourself from.<br />Most of the agents one would likely encounter would not only be harmful if ingested but also from exposure to the skin. Which would require a hazmat suit among other "accesories."<br /><br />As to the helicopters, we don't see those around here. I work 2 miles from an airforce runway and the activity at the base has markedly increased. Kind of eerie watching F-16's and C-130's fly overhead for 9-10 hours a day.

thay beefed up secrity in ny becuse it's the first place anyone would attack if thay were going to ny is the usa. in other countrys eyes move to wisconsin no one knows were here
