My father in law bought a bimini top for our pontoon that is 8' wide but we are only 7'6 at the rails. Any ideas for brackets or something we can use to mount this? It was a closeout and we can't return it. It is also very nice so I would like to use it but don't want it to look piece mealed together. He wants to bend each side in 3" but I already know that is a terrible idea.

Thanks,
Jeff

3" on each side though? Seems like a lot and that it would put a lot of stress on the arms or rails or both. I guess maybe I should dry fit and see how much play I have

As long as its a ROUND tube frame 3" on each side is nothing -
In the below pic is a top that came off a 77" beamed deckboat on my 94" pontoon i installed & used till my new top came in

3" on each side is no big deal, I doubt you or anybody will ever notice it.

It'll work-
If you shop online you'll notice the different widths are-
67-72
73-78
79-84
85-90
91-96
Luck to ya-
Tops are REAL nice in this heat

A good electrician who hand bends pipe can bend that with little trouble at all. Using a hand bender 3 inches is nothing to worry about. Two 1-1/2 inch offsets will put you right on the mark. It won't weaken the pipe in anyway at all.

Nobody will even notice it, but if the top is the same as mine, you could just shorten the top tubes, the fabric would come down a little more on the sides, but thats not a bad thing.

Why don't you post on one of the boat forums what you have ,maybe someone will trade you with one that fits or at least have something that you can use.

Should the light be in the front or back of the Bimini cover? I put the cover on with the light in the back but am now concerned it's backwards
