Re: Auto A/C question

You can add POE to mineral oil as it will mix. Add atleast 2 oz. to the system. I'd drain the compressor if it were mine, and top up with POE.

Re: Auto A/C question

Well ,all seems to be good with the conversion.Drained compressor, reinstalled.Installed new hoses.Flushed a nitrogen charge through system (in the suction side and out the liquid line.)Evacuated system for around 20 minutes down to 29" on the manifold guage.Broke vacuum with a 2 oz POE oil charge.Static charged with R134 and then started up truck and ran the unit to complete the charge.Ended up with around 30 psi low side pressure and 225 high side at 2000 RPMs with A/C on cold setting and high fan.Seems to cool real nice. Thanks again to all that helped.

Did you measure the amount of oil you drained from the compressor, then add that amount back into the system?

Re: Auto A/C question

Auto zone required a $194 deposit for the vacuum pump that they reimbursed in full when I returned it.In cash. Now we know a sneaky way to get a $200 check cashed when we can't get to the bank. :)
