i have a bilge pump in my 18' thundercraft, it is not an automatic one though. as this boat will be in the water a week at a time up north der hey, should i put in an automatic one as well? the one thats in there works well but i suppose just in case is a good thing. so with that said, if i install one, what brand is the best for this situation? thanks bob

Re: auto bilge pump

You can add a float switch to make it automatic.

Re: auto bilge pump

I have 2 on my boat just in case, a 500 and an 1100, both automatic.

As stated you can get just the switch or keep the original and put in an auto one too.

Any kind you can get at the iboats store is a good one.

Re: auto bilge pump

bob.....boats left in the water without automatic float switches tend to sink !

and if you have one........you may as well have 2 each on a seperate battery for redundancy.

all it takes is two rainy days....then a hard rain and a little wind and waves.....and your beauteful boat is in davy jones locker.

if you leave it in the water....auto bilge pump....better yet....two

i use 2 pumps, that are totally independant. the auto/manual and a manual. they are on separate batteries, with separate thru hull fittings.
