Hi,
I junked the autoblend on my 60hp OB343140 merc and am getting a warning horn. Either overheat or low oil. Is there something that has to be unwired with that autoblend? I can't remember if there were any wires connected to it or not. I am running 25:1 fuel for the break-in so I know it has oil. It does not appear to be overheating as there is plenty of water coming out and no steam. I posted this question before and didn't get much response. Appreciate any info I can get....................Jerry

assuming it is a 2 stroke, there is a wire, Blue I think that trails to the low oil warning. You may have to pull the fuse to stop but I am not sure if that will kill the overheat alarm. Thats obviously a no no. I am not an expert but when I thought I had a bad oil level sensor that is what I trailed on my 90.

Re: autoblend question?

Thanks Chenny,

Thanks for the input. I checked my clymer manual and it didn't even mention the auto blend. I wouldn't want to unhook the heat sensor, but I hope the abscence of the autoblend isn't causeing it. Otherwise I can't figure what is causeing the warning. There is plenty of water coming out and no steam. The pee hole is practicly an open tube which would account for the low water pressure. I can't get the gromet that was the original equiptment. It had a slit in it that allowed a fine spray of water and would create more back pressure. .................Jerry

Re: autoblend question?

it is actually very, very common for those warning modules to go bad and throw an alarm. Follow the wires to each, the oil level, and temp sensor and when the alarm goes off disconnect one at a time and you will have an answer. That module is only about thirty to forty dollars on Ebay. Good luck, keep me posted.
