ah...forgot to tell this story: a friend of mine (who introduced me to boating) told me that sometime ago, with a small 17 ft he had (very nice boat, called "Low Profile" because of the racing shape), he was returning to the marina from the islands here in Mochima Park. A big wave appeared and, you guessed, the bow entered the wave like a knife. Lots of water entered the boat. He told me that everything on board was floating. He lost towels, expensive sun glasses, etc, everything. But the bilge pump started to pump out water immediately. He continued at low speed, but without stopping the motion of the boat. The bilge pump did a great job, and he returned ok to the marina. Nice, huh?
