automatic stern light mechanism broke

I have a 1998 Larson 206 Anniversary edition that has an automatic raise/lower Stern light. The flexible nylon gear rack that runs against the motor gear broke. Does anyone know where I could find gear rack. It took me an hour of googling just to figure out what this stuff is called (gear rack). Think of those toy cars that have a plastic gear and what looks like a large zip tie that you push through the gear and then give it a yank and it spins up the wheels so you can drop the car and it speeds away. I've attached a picture. I need a piece about 4 feet long. It's width is about 1/8 inch with about 10 teeth per inch.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I looked around and the only place I found that made them quit making them. You may be out of luck for repair parts.

I believe they were made by innovation lighting. and I believe they were around for only one or two years.

That was the place, Scott.

The gear strip reminds me of a Chrysler nylon power window drive belt, which broke often. I had an '86 Chrysler and went though the drivers window drive many times.

The Dorman Help! line still has them listed - http://www.finddormanhelp.com/Search...e=39&model=259

Check with an auto parts store to see if they still have them. Or save money by checking a pull-a-part wrecking yard. It may be too wide and you might have to break off the guide tangs. Worth a shot.

Thanks guys for your feedback! I"m going to see if I can find the part listed on Doorman and see if I can modify it. I've checked a few boat salvage yards with no success. Again. Thanks!
