Automotive powersteering fluid okay for Volvo Penta?

For the PS pump reservoir and the tilt/trim reservoir on an '04 Four Winns Horizon 180 w/ VP SX can I use the same stuff as a car or do I need some special fluid for top-offs? Also, are the two systems linked or are they entirely separate fluid systems?

Motor oil is what is in the manual. PS fluid, atf, sae 30, it all works, and the pump doesnt care

IS that true for the TRIM reservoir too and can it be MIXED with whatever is already in there? I prefer just to sue auto p/s fluid so I don't have to stock additional chemicals in my stash but I need to be sure I can mix w/ the probably OEM fluid that is there. I am guessing it is some sort of hydraulic fluid volvo used. I thought about ATF but the existing fluid is amberish in color and I didn't like pouring in red stuff is that wasn't what was already there
