I have an 89 Celebrity 181 and the auxillary outet/cigarette lighter doesn't work. I took a multimeter to it and not only do the wires have power going to it, but if I stick the leads into the outlet, it also shows it gets power. I tried replacing it with another one and I have the same problem. I've tried the pump that I'm trying to plug in in another vehicle and it works fine, so it's not that. I even took an old car charger to it and probed the wires going to it and it gets 12v just fine, and yet it still doesn't work. Could anyone help me figure out what's going on?

A bad/corroded electrical connection will cause this type issue.....Follow the wires back to the fuse panel clean all connections and don't forget to check the ground connections they are just as important.

Agree. If you have a highly resistive connection somewhere, you will measure voltage but once you put a load on the circuit, the voltage at the load will drop to zero.
