Avoid Force?

I am in the market for a larger motor for my 24' pontoon boat. I found a Force motor on craigslist, but when I went to NADA I see that Force is no longer around.

Should I avoid those motors in my search for a replacement? How is parts availability?

Re: Avoid Force?

Force was bought by Mercury in the mid 90s, They are a simple motor and are easy to work on. Parts are still easily found. But as with anything with more age parts will get harder to find.

Parts are available for SOME models.

Mercury is no longer supporting the Force motors.

Forget it and find something else. Why would you want to start out with something already obsolete?
