Hey, I am planning to paint the top sides of my hull and wanted to get Awlgrip. I got confused as to what all I would need to use. Could anyone help me with a list of what all I would need to purchase? (as far as hardeners, reducers, clear coat, convertor, etc). If I have to prime, and buy all the things for that, then spray the top coat and buy all the things for that, then a clear coat and all of those things, it seems like I would need 10 or so "things".

I am spraying an 18' center console that I would like to look nice, but its no show boat. The sides are already butter smooth.

Alternatively, I may consider Rustoleum Topside since it may be easier, and adequate.

Thanks for any help!

Awlgrip is a very good product. It is used for serious yachts. I cannot answer your question, as I have never used it.

For topsides, you could use a good 1 part marine urethane like Brightside, instead of Awlgrip.

I would not use Rustolium. That would be like choosing between using a good brush and fingerpainting.

LOL! Thanks for the reply. I will look into Brightside. Some on here have had success with Rusto. Still curious about Awlgrip though if anyone has the answer. Thanks
