Axle mount

I have to replace and axle (bent) it is mounted on top of the leaf springs now. Is it better to mount under the leafs or does it really matter? Just asking since I am going to replace this weekend Thanks.

It all depends on the amount of ground clearance you are looking for for the trailer. All of my trailers (camper, exclosed, etc.) have hte axle mounted on top of the springs except one. My pressure washer trailer I filled the axles to under the springs for more groud clearance due the weight. No problems at all.

It doesn't matter but you need to order the correct axle if you are ordering a cambered axle. Axles installed on top of the spring allow the trailer to sit lower so you don't have to back in so far to launch and retrieve the boat.
