Hello all im new here and new to restoring boats this is my first, My question is i have a 1974 glasspar 165 cutlas with a volvo penta b20 engine and a 270 outdrive, im pulling the deck out and found i need to pull the engine. right now the only way the engine is being held in place is by the transome, there are no motor mounts securing the engine the the hull in anyway, is this correct?? or do you all think there should be mounts on the stringers? please help.

There were some early model Volvo Pentas that had the engine "cantilevered" off the transom shield. You likely have one of those.

Don't forget the mount that attaches to the bottom of the transom shield. The engines bounces up and down on that so it's just as important as the rubber donuts and locking collars.
