my buddies 2000 tracker has pitting and erosion/corrosion happening on the back of his boat. im wondering if this has something to do with the zincs or his non factory installed electric start kicker? its similar to rust forming on a car.... im just looking for a few things that i can check over. thanks in advance!!!!

Is this boat in the water all the time? On a powered lift? At the dock with an on-board charger plugged in much of the time? If so, I'd start by checking the AC power wiring to the lift and to the boat charger if applicable. Stray current is doing this and it may be from a neighbors power system.

hey, the transom was replaced last week ( wood)
the boat is always garaged.
the only modification to the boat is that there was an electric start 9.9 hp kicker added. ill have to take some pics but it wont be here for another week or so...
im going to have to take a look and see where everything is grounded, but id have to assume that nothing was grounded to the hull...
