Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but here goes. I've got a 2000 22 ft Angler center console with a big gas leak somewhere. I put 15 gallons in the other day when it was on the trailer and it all ended up in the bilge. Fuel lines and fill line have been eliminated as the problem. I suspect that the tank(aluminum) is cracked or rotted because i can't explain how else it could come out so fast. I know the console has to come off to see what is happening down there. My questions:
Is anyone familiar with Angler boats and is this a common problem?
If I try to remove the console my self am I getting into a very big and difficult job?
I am mechanically inclined but no experience with this kind of thing. Thanks....

Take the batteries out of the boat. Avoid making sparks. Ventilate the area or keep it outside. Get as much gas out of the tank as you can. Flush the bilge with plenty of laundry detergent and copious amounts of cold water. Once the smell is gone, have at it. I'm afraid I can't help as to how to get to it. It's usually under a floor panel, but sometimes it's under a permanent floor. I always get nervous working on gas tanks. One stray electrical or static spark and  !

After you flush it with fresh water, dump a gallon of bleach in there, that helps kill the fumes. No idea what an Angler is, but many boats need the decks cut and reglassed for tank repair. Have you thought about using an above the deck plastic tank for the season? That's one option...... Good luck.

A buddy of mine had an older Angler with a hole in the tank. we would have had to "cut" the floor to get atit, fix or replace the tank, reglass the floor. We decided that it wasn't cost efficient so we emptied the tank, cleaned her out, and now use plastic fuel tanks. They take up space but worth it in the long run.
Stalker
