Hey guys. I have a 2000 Mercury 25hp 2-stroke. For a non-important reason, I had to remove the cover on the back of the motor that surrounds the spark plugs. Its the same cover that the themostat housing bolts up to. Anyways, now the gasket is trashed and I need a new one. But...I have no idea what its called. I have a link to a picture of it. It is the gasket in the top left corner of the picture. Any help is appreciated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120326072064&viewitem=&_trkparms=algo%3DLVI%26its%3DI%26otn%3D2&category=50439

In the past that gasket was called a water jacket cover gasket. Because I've been "out of the industry" 15-20 years tells me they call it something different. Mostly because the engines are built differently. Try a cylinder head/block cover gasket or something similar to that.

hope that helps ya out some.

Thanks backyard mechanic. I thought that was what it was called too. But, I couldn't find that part for a small motor like my 25 hp. Anyone else have any ideas? Thanks.
