Took the boat to the lake today, backed her in, lowered the drive, cranked up, sat there to warm up, looked around and bildge-pump was running........................Opened the hatch and it had probably 30 gallons in it in about 5-6 mins....

After a little diagnosing at the ramp, here's what I find.
With the drive out, no leak, running or not, when the drive gets a little over halfway in ,water starts gushing, running or not, I'm not talking about a small leak either, the boat would probably sink in 30 mins or less. As best as I could tell it was not comming from high-up, it would fill so fast and my bay is so cramped with the seat in it, I could not get down there close enough to tell exactly where it was leaking. I pulled up the ramp twice with plug-in and no water was leaking back out. I forgot to let the drive down and check......
Going to go pull the drive now and remove the bench.
Any ideas???

U-joint bellows is dry. New, a couple of weeks ago. I'm suspecting the hose that the shifter-cable runs through might be loose at the housing. It's a big-enough hole to let this much water in.

Could be.. I thought that was a NLA part, but you can still get it.. As fas as the water is flowing in.. You should be able to fill the bilge and find that leak.. Good thing you kept it attached to the trailer.. Sounds to be faster than the pump could keep up with.. Did you remember the plug?:D Sorry had to say it:p
