I can't believe it. Come home from work yesterday and Keeper is gone. My wonderful son tied him out and left to go to his girlfriends,

I asked him why and his comment was "You said to put him out before I go" I told him we never leave him out when nobody is home. I meant put him out to go to potty. So anyway he got loose. Searched the neighbor hood, at least we didn't see any remains that he was hit by a car.

The only tag he had was his rabies tag with the vets name and address. We called the vet and their answering service picked up. The person said another operator had received a call about a lost dog that was found. When we called they couldn't find the note about it and who turned it in.

I wish they would just let him go because I know he will come home. If he was a small house dog, I can understand, but a large dog that hunts will roam and go home. I never tie up a stray because I know a dog will return home if he belongs to someone.

I am so bent out of shape, it feels like it did when my friend was killed. My wife is staying home today to try to find him.

He is like an iboats dog. After my outside dog was poisioned, it was here that it was suggested that I get a young pup to raise. It was here that names were suggested in which I used one of those names. So I'm posting an update for those that have helped.

I'll post another update after I get off work today. Thanks.......SS :(

One of the worst feelings in the world is losing a pet! I feel for you, SS, and genuinely hope he finds his way home soon.
We got a new puppy 3 weeks ago. Seeing this post has reminded me to spend the $55 to get him one of those microchip implants at the vet's. He said these implants have a 1-800 number answered 24/7 and all vets he knows as well as animal shelters/pounds have the scanners to read them.
Best of luck, SS, and let us know when he returns home. I'm confident you'll get him back!

SS,

We lost one of our pups about a week ago. She go up from eating and collapsed. I administered CPR but she wound't respond. My wife was VERY close to Sugar Puppy, and she was only 2. It was and still is heart breaking. We love our pups so much, they are all inside dogs, and since we work from our house we live very closely with them.

I pray now Dear Lord PLEASE deliver this puppy safely back home to SS Mayfloat.

Re: Bad Luck with Pets

I think my dog is trying to compete with my son. He had to be bailed out of doggy jail (pound). :D
$52 bucks. He was glad to see us. I didn't have a dog license which it could have been alot more. The dog warden drinks coffee at one of the stores in the AM. So he knew me and cut me some slack.

Thanks for your thoughts. Worse things could have happened to him. I'll get a pic posted over in the chat room of him later on.

It was funny when the warden said he would take Keeper to the car for us. It was more like Keeper took the warden to the car. :D

Think I'll get him to pull the grandkids on their sleds this winter.

SS :D :D

Yeah he is. Dog warden thought it was strange name for awhile, but after playing with him, he said "He's a Keeper alright"

While searching in the website where I found him, I found another Newfy/Lab mix with the same name. Whats the odds of that.....SS
