HI ALL, WHERE TO START, I HAVE A 95 MARIAH SHABAH Z212 W/ 350 MAG , 4 BRL CARB, (575HRS.)ENGINE S/N=0F298463.
FRESH WATER USE, TRAILERED. SO FAR I HAVE REPLACED PLUGS, WIRES, CAP, ROTOR, AND LEAKY INTAKE GASKET. COMPRESSION OK. THE ENGINE MISSES BADLY AFTER BOAT SITS, THE MISS GOES AWAY AFTER ENGINE WARMS. ANY IDEAS? PLEASE HELP?

ALSO BOAT HAS THRU-HULL EXHAUST, CAN WATER BE GETTING IN THROUGH TO EXHAUST SYSTEM? WHAT STOPS IT?

Well you can start by replacing the gaskets on the exhaust elbows and check to be sure the flappers on the transom tips are good. If the gaskets on the elbows are shot then cooling water could be getting into the manifolds and then it stops when warm because the exhaust heats up and expands sealing the leak.

This will at least eliminate one possible problem.

Before its awrm it is running on the choke circuit in the carb. I would suggest cleaning out the low speed circuits in there to smooth it out.

Bob

Do compression test when cold might be sticky valve, starts to let go when warm and things expand.
