Ballistic prop, John boat?

I have a 16' Sea Ark John boat that is set up like a Bass Tracker. It has the decking, live well, two batteries and forward trolling motor. Normal load is two people and a dog. The motor is a 1977 Evinrude 35, with hydrofoil. The boat performs best with a 10x15 aluminum prop(Michigan Match). I have a 10x13 aluminum and the motor seems to over rev. <br /><br />I'm considering buying one of the stainless steel Ballistic props sold on this site. Is the Ballistic prop suited to my john boat? Do I need to drop 2" pitch and use a 10x13 ss prop? what can I expect in performance? Thanks

Due to the light weight of your set-up I doubt that plop flex from the AL prop is an issue. If you boat performs best with the 10 x 15 and your not over reving then go with that size in stainless.<br /><br />Bob

Captain,I tried a ballistic on a tad bigger motor(120hp) and it did perform better than my aluminum props.But every boat /motor would be different.You dont have a bunch of hp to start with,so who knows.

Thanks for the replies. What I'm wondering is if I will see a noticable performance gain and if the ballistic is suited to a john boat. My aluminum prop is like new but the sale price on the ballistic is very tempting. I have read that when switching from an uncupped aluminum to a cupped stainless you need to drop 2" in pitch. Does this not apply to small boat-low hp (35) applications? Thanks
