Does runing engine with balooned fuel pump diaphragms has any effect on engine performance at any throttle range, will lack some kind of performance ? E ballons much faster thin diaphragams than standard non mixed E fuels, any ideas ?

Happy Boating

Re: Balooned Diaphragms

Haven't noticed any difference...mostly on <25 hp engines. Normally even a less than full volume pump can keep up with most single or twin carb-Ed engines.

IMHO A stretched out diaphram is ripe with probable running faults and positive pregnancy tests.

Re: Balooned Diaphragms

If all of a sudden you're happily running along at WOT on a routine route and abruptly run out of fuel...

Knowing full well you've run that same route in the same conditions a hundred times before...

Expect to find a ruptured fuel pump diaphragm when you eventually get home.

Translation: Time to install a new diaphragm. BEFORE a failure happens.
