What do you recommend for two bank on board battery chargers. Looking to get a 15 am charger on board.

Thx

I am looking to keep two batteries charged at all times. One cranking and the other running electronics and trolling motor

Re: bank chargers

I don't know, I have been researching this pretty hard, I just returned one brand, because it failed in a short amount of time. I've read as many reviews as I could find on the major brands and none of them get better than mediocre reviews. Usually its five stars for,"I just installed it, but I like it so far", or one star for,"another one just failed, I'm going to look at other brands". I think I am going to try the Dual pro brand, at least they are made in the USA and not china like most of the others. They do make a two bank 15/15 amp charger, but its a bit big for the space in my boat, so I am going with the 10/10(20 amp version).

Re: bank chargers

I've used both Guest and Pro-Mariner with no issues. You do realize an "on board charger" is not an engine driven charger and that they only charge when plugged into 120 volt AC power. If this sounds like a rediculous statement, I am only asking because there many folks who do not realize this.

Re: bank chargers

I've got a ProMariner and it failed in short order, they did replace it fast under warranty no problem, but it would be better if it didn't fail at all. The other thing I don't like is that they are made in China.
I like the Guest intelligent chargers, partially because they are a better shape to fit the space in my boat, made in Taiwan.
I do like the MinnKota chargers, but they are physically BIG and I just can't fit them in the space I have in my boat.

My GUEST charger worked for 3 weeks, then decided to never stop charging and boiled out my battery.

have a regular minnkota "on board" charger now.
