I took a very good customer ($200k+) out to dinner last Friday in Orlando.
He knew I had a 3 hour drive home and I almost cancelled on him, but decided I may as well and I can be home by 1:30-2am...;)

Well I get the mail yesterday and he sent me a "Thank You" card saying none of his other vendors would give up a Friday night and then drive so far home.

Included in the note was a $50.00 BPS gift certificate!!!!

So the real question is..What would ya get yourself? I am leaning towards the Olin Signal kit...May be the gift that saves my life one day..lol

Ya...I may go browse the store tomorrow..Been looking at the online ads..
Even if I add a few bucks of my own..Heck I am 50 bux ahead..

Now if I just dont go get a 400 dollar trollin motor I'll be OK! lol

Ezmobee PM'd me a pretty good idea..I may have to think about it for awhile though...I guess he would want me to wear it to Tinstock tho..lol

Nice idea for a gift. Very generous of buddy too.

Ya..Ive handled his account for over 10 years..I almost feel bad because my company reimburses the dinner as an entertainment expense..It only made me get home very late Friday/Sat morning..Maybe he knew my other half was disapointed with me being gone 4 days and comin in during the middle of the night...lol

The company I work for would no allow me to accept the gift card as a gift. I would either have to refuse it or turn over the company who raffle for a charity auction. Gift card is considered cash and could be interpreted as a bribe.

I can see that you are really having trouble deciding what to buy . I have the perfect solution that will make us both happy.

Send it to me :D. I know exactly how to spend it and you would no longer have to stress out over it. Problem solved ;)

Seriously, that was a thoughtful gesture on the part of your customer. He obviously appreciated your time and effort.

I would hang onto the card for now (unless you WANT to send it to me) and wait till after Christmas. Who knows, maybe you will receive others as gifts, and then there is always those boxing day sales.

Re: Bass Pro Gift card

So Diane and I are walking around BPS this evening...

Hmmmmm..
They have a 30# trolling motor for 99 bux..a 50#'r for 140.00...hmmmm
Hmmmmmmm.....Hesitant that a 30# wouldn't push my 18 ft tinny..probably MUCH better than paddles.....Too tight to pony up another 90 bux for the 50# one...

So
I did get a Diawa spinner n rod combo for Diane/a boat guest rod..19.99
So still have $$$ to burn for next time..
