A photo would help. That said, yes I have seen an I/O bassboat, but don't know if it is same as yours. It was all aluminum with the I/O covered by a "hump" in the back, flush deck, and I want to think it had a jet drive.

There were several of the bass boat manufacturers who offered the I/O drives for a short period of time. They didn't work out too well since it made taking the boats out in freezing weather a chore (having to drain the block all the time) and the lightweight 2-strokes of the time caused less of a weight imbalance.

I really do thank you for ya time,, But why drain the block all the time if ya have antifreeze in the motor?? An the water is only going thru the lower unit up thru the Heat Exchanger then back out right?? Then just have to take the plugs out of the Heat Exchanger to let the water out at winter time or if not going to use the boat for a while,,

Even if you have antifreez in the block the exhaust manifold usually has sea water and also needs to be drained.

I've seen one with a back end kinda similar to that but it has a jet drive. It might be called ProBass but that's a terrible design for a bass boat. It looks more like runabout.

Again, the drive-type wasn't the problem in either case (jet or I/O), it mainly the cold-weather operation that makes them a pain for serious fishermen. Jet drives are actually great for that application and offer self-draining capability too if you had a jet-ski type engine. However, the Big Blocks tied to the jet drive take up too much deck space and place too much weight at the back.

I will say that if you've ever been on a bass rig with one of the 275-300HP O/B engines on it, it isn't much different in weight than the I/O setup, especially with it hanging another 2 foot back on the boat.

This is just flat out a ugly looking boat an I think it should have never got the name of Bass boat,,lol,, Even if the boat was a diff color I don't think it would help it,, An it is a very very heavey boat, Somebody put a name like sea frog on the side but that don't match the boat eaighter,, I don't know if the boat would be worth fixing up or just strip er down, Has great floors in it, Great running motor an outdrive,, But just the looks is whats got me,,lol,

Okay, so yes, it is ugly, but if the floor is solid and the engine and outdrive are in good shape, then the cosmetics can be worked over so it has a little more eye appeal. It is a "doable" boat. It is just a matter of what you are looking for in your floating money pit.
