Re: Bateau OB17 Build

Looks good so far. Lots of questions pop to mind:

1) What kind of plywood did you use? How much so far? Did you cut it yourself or get a kit?

2) How long did it take to get to this point?

3) What are you planning on using for power?

4) How long do you think until you're done?

:)

I started a C19 myself but then realized A) I didn't have time to finish it and B) if I did finish it I'd have a boat more or less like the one I have.. so I decided to spend time on that one when I got a chance.

1. Meranti BS1088/the hull is 1/4'' and I'd have to look at the BOM for the amounts/I bought the plans from Bateau and cut the wood
2. Started at the end of the summer last year
3. Looking at a 75 Merc or a 90 Johnson
4. Looking to be done by the end of this year....hopefully this summer!!

Re: Bateau OB17 Build

Yep, nice wood. It seems a shame to cover the stuff with paint later, it's so pretty with just epoxy on it :)

Re: Bateau OB17 Build

Why did you do this for a shoot thru hull transducer?

Thru hull transducers will not shoot through a wooden hull. So you have to cut a hole and fill it with an epoxy/filler where you wish to mount your transducer.
