Friday I started to rip out the bathroom.
It was 27 years old, 70's speckled tile all around, water damage behind the shower tile, paint over wallpaper, and an equally out of date floor.

Friday: Gutted entire room

Saturday: Hung Drywall

Sunday: Put up most of Shower tile

Monday part day: Finish shower tile and put down cement board on the floor

Tuesday (today): Tonight I try to put down the floor. Brotherinlaw the taper should be by this afternoon to sand and he's going to Prime it.

Ron...
We nailed a row of finish nails under it to keep it from slipping.

Still had to keep an eye on things for about half hour until the glue set.

We HAD to redo the tile and floor, so the entire room needed a gut, but the wife wanted to go with a pedistal sink, so the budget on this project got bumped about $400 for all the extra new stuff.

Seen the price of a fany faucet!?!?!?!
$130 for thee faucet,

$150 for the damn shower valve!

Oh... and Bob...

Yes, needed the ladder to get in the tub, one can never be too safe.

...And the tile, only $.98 a foot, I was happy with that one :)

Looks great Noel! I did mine when I first bought this house. Pink bath, toilet, and sink. Floor was black peelnstick tiles, shower walls was a painted masonite, and some gawd awful wall paper that would be used in a dinner. I took out 2 small closets and moved the washer and dryer from the basement to the bathroom. Wife loves it, no more stairs for her (or me).

Keep up the good work, you may find a new profession.................SS

Got to warn you Noel,I went out and got a pedestal sink to because Wifee wanted one,and guess what now she doesn't like it because she lost storage space ,you know for all that makeup and woman stuff,So attempt # 2 on keeping wifee happy don,t think it will be the last attempt wish me luck as I will to you,but at least your wife let you play with one of her tools :D :D So good job and good luck hummm now she doesn't like the new toilet either, guess I'II keep the plumbing supply shop in business

Re: Bathroom Project Progress with Pics -**Tuesday Update

Friday Morning update:

All walls have received a coat of primar and 2 finish coats of chocolate brown. Painting is done.

Grouting is done and sealed.

Hung the light this morning.

Pedistal sink is mounted, Cut the drain to short, so tonight I re-do the drain.

All 3 shutoff valves were CRAPPY from Lowes, can't remove the guts before sweating them, all three leaked through the valve. Replaced the 2 for the sink, but the toilet one was RIGHT up against the drywall, so this morning before work, cut out the drywall and cut it out so I could pull it up from the basement. It's cut and capped in the basement right now.

So left on the list:

Sink Drain
Toilet Supply
Toilet Drain replacement
Hang Med Cab
Trim
Hang 2 Doors

Who knew there was SO much stuff in a 60 sq ft room.
