Thanks for the help guys. I've managed to rewire all electronics etc. off one fuse panel connected to the common on the switch and everything works beautifully. The original panel wiring from the boat manufacturer ie. switches for bilge, livewell, nav lts, horn and guages are run off a fuse panel that is directly fed from Battery #2. The + red wire has a "short stop" breaker at the battery terminal. Is it ok to hook this to the common on the dual switch? And do I leave the negative black wire hooked to the battery or move it someplace else? If this is ok I will rewire the bilge directly to the secondary battery. Again - Thanks

No need to reply to this post. I figured it all out with a little help and now have a system that will serve me well for years. Its tough buying a used boat and not knowing what that person was thinking when they had their boat wired. Time and diligance with some help from the good people here has paid off and saved me a lot of $$$ not having an electrician do the job.:)
