I have a 17ft center console with a 1998 115 Evinrude. I am installing a dual battery setup with a switch and ACR.

I need to use group 24 batteries for size and weight. I was looking at getting a Duralast starting battery with 875 MCA and a Deep Cycle with a RC of 140 hrs and 685 MCA. My local Autozone can only get a starting battery rated at 625 MCA. They do have plenty of 685 MCA / 140 RC "Dual Purpose" batteries. Would I be better off just getting 2 of the dual purpose batteries or live with the lower rated starting battery and the DC I wanted? I have looked around at other places and the only other reasonably priced starting batteries are also 625 MCA.

You can use a dual purpose for starting duty.
