Just what is battery acid..have 2 dry batt's coming for 2 of my motorcycles.. coming from an online purchase (cheaper than town with shipping less than taxes, and no disposal fee..still good for other purposes, so I want to keep them.
I can twirl wrenches in the dark and do magic, but kinda clueless anything electrical.
Straight Sulphuric acid, right? Couple bucks town. Thanks in advance

The electrolyte in a battery is 30 to 50% sulfuric acid and the rest water. I believe the last I bought was at Advance auto.

Thanks..kinda knew, as it being a Catalyst..not straight Sulpheric...50 years of still knowing everything, but a heck of lot to still learn! Thanks again. Bike dealers in town would do it for free..but free don't keep ya in business!.. Thanks for the reply..

It's chemically H2SO4 and H20 for the water you add. (One thing I remembered from Chemistry Class and the other was Hydrochloric Acid (HCL). Don't remember anything else.......except the 24 year old teacher we had. Grin.

I rejuvenated a battery once and didn't use all the electrolyte which was contained in a plastic bag. So I sat it on the shelf in my tool shed. One day I noticed the bag was empty. Investigation revealed a small hole gnawed into the lower corner. Wonder how long it took for that mouse to die? Would not want to be in his shoes.
