After hours of trouble shooting, finally decided to clean my battery contacts only to discover neg cable from batteries was solid as a rock!
also feels like it breaking up inside. I need info on where to get replacement and what caused this.
Thanks, Joe:confused:

Well what caused it is plain and simple corrosion which wicks it way up the cable / wire. If it occurred at the battery end then it's likely the battery post seal had failed and battery acid wicked up into the cable causes the corrosion process to occur even quicker...

As far as replacing it, and if it's an eyelet to eyelet cable (like most marine battery cables I have seen myself)... I prefer to make my own from welding cable and crimpable ends... You can get most everything you need from a well stocked automotive electrical store, heck even some NAPA's carry everything you will need...

Good luck...

If you don't want to replace it every few years get marine grade, tinned wire. It will be flexible and resist corrosion 10 times as long as welding cable.
