Battery cables

I need new battery cables for my boat motor. It is an 18 horse Evinrude 18902 Can I go buy some jumper cables, cut the ends off and use them for the cables. If so, what gauge do I need for six feet of cable.? thanks for the help.

Go here and have them made up. They are very reasonable and you can ask them questions on what size ends you need.
