Battery charging question

I have a 12 V Deka Marine starting battery that has been laying around in the garage for 8 months or so ( grp 27 ). Anyway I put it on the battery charger and let it sit overnight at 10 amps. Went out this a.m. and the charging needle had barely moved and the battery case was quite warm. Is this puppy toast? It started at 25% charge and ended up at 50% before I pulled the plug.
The battery is probably two years old and I have NO idea where the receipt might be. Not worried about refunds or the like - just want to know if I should keep it on the charger a bit longer or give up the fight?

Give up. The battery sitting discharged for so long likely ruined it.

Re: Battery charging question

hate to say it but Bruce is right. I top off the charge every 2 weeks in the off season because not much shortens battery life worse than leaving a battery discharged.
