1986 mercruiser 170. My battery discharges within 2 days, new battery. Disconnected negative cable at battery, put my meter in series with cable and battery post. Meter shows 2.3 amp drain, all power draining items turned off. Traced circuits and all wiring is correct. Checked all fuses, removed them one at a time, no change in amp drain. I still have the oem water cooled regulator. Earlier in season, engine overheated, water pump impeller were shot. Replaced all hoses, bellows, impeller, output shaft bearing carrier. Took it out to lake, runs great, but battery still drains. Any suggestions would be appreciated

I guess this is an official welcome aboard.

Moved this into the M/C section.

With all the fuses removed, you still had the drain?

Disconnect the regulator and check the current, it may have cooked during the overheat.

Disconnect the cable to the starter and rerun your test.
