anyone know how i can hook up a staring battery and a accessory battery to the same engine?

yep<br /> the spare red lead from the regulator is the isolated lead, that way you can charge a seperate battery. the v6 yam of that year should have it. look for an unused 20 amp fuse near the regulator.
