Battery isolator wiring questions

Ahoy gang I am putting a battery isolator in so i can keep the stereo battery charged without having starting issues. After a day splashing around in the water. My boat is a Bluefin Spectrum 1950 with a OMC 2.3L the engine is equipped with a prestolight alternator. I purchased sure power 954A battery isolator for internally regulated alternators. The instructions for wiring it in don't mention a prestolight alternator. My question would be to someone who has worked with a setup similar to mine and can give me some insight into getting everything right on the first try.

For simplicity, if your ALT is a one wire configuration, using an isolator will not work. If it has since leads which go to the ignition key, then it will work. There needs to be a wire which will be energized by the key switch so the ALT can tell when the battery is charged. I use a isolator just as you want to setup on my Rinker. Can run the stereo until the battery dies and can still crank the engine up. The ignition wire needs to make it back to the starting battery. Another good thing to add is a two bank battery charger to keep them both up to proper level
