I recently purchased a 24' checkmate zt240. the boat originaly came with one battery. The owner put a crazy stereo system in it and added another battery and wired it parrallel . the batteries that are in the boat are deep cycle. i want to change the batteries. Should i stick with 2 deep cycle batteries or maybe put in 2 dual purpose batteries? There is no battery switch, and because the batteries are wired in parallel im assuming the batteries should be the same.

Hello,I am installing 2 Batteries in my boat rightnow,I bought 2 Deep cycles and I found this post, and it really helped me out alot. http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=228575&highlight=batteries Read through this, and you will find the best method to solve your battery problem.I was told, and also read that hooking up 2 batteries parrallel or like they are on your boat is not a good idea, without a switch,or an isolator. Hope this helps you
